I am a dedicated academic and departmental leader with a Bachelor of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry with Management from Kenyatta University. With a strong background in both scientific analysis and managerial principles, with a well-rounded practical approach to teaching and departmental leadership.

As the head of department, I am committed to fostering academic excellence, promoting practical skill development, and guiding both students and staff towards achieving their educational and professional goals. His leadership is marked by integrity, innovation, and a passion for quality training in technical and applied sciences.

 

Message from the Office of Agriculture and Applied Sciences Department

This department is one of the backbones of food productivity, quality checks and health practitioners. We pride  ourselves in quality learning that is field practice oriented, to produce innovative, and competent individuals.

The department has the following sections:

Agriculture technology

the courses in agriculture are designed to equip trainees with knowledge and practical skills  that enables them produce, process and to market agricultural  produce for improved living. The trainee can train farmers in the informal sector and therefore enhancing agricultural productivity in the nation. With this knowledge, they can join formal and informal employment. Our curriculum is competency based to fully equip trainee practical skills applicable in the course.

Those who graduate from  level 4 are allowed to transit to level 5 who also can transit to level 6.

Applied science and health technology

The section of applied science equips trainees with technological knowledge and skills applied to ensure quality of products and processes applied in industrial manufacturing. A trainee gaining these skills can apply them in research institutions and many formal employments both in industries and education.

Trainees who graduate from level 5 in science laboratory technology can advance to level 6 in either of the fields  below:

  • Diploma in analytical chemistry
  • Diploma in science laboratory technology
  • Diploma in food technology
