Mr. Nzioki Bernard Head of Finance Office

CPA Bernard Nzioki
CPA Bernard Nzioki is a dedicated and results-oriented finance professional currently serving as the Finance Officer at Mwala Technical and Vocational College (Mwala TVC). He brings with him a wealth of experience in financial management, accounting, and training, underpinned by a strong academic and professional background.

Mr. Nzioki holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Machakos University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), holding membership number 31015. His academic and professional qualifications have equipped him with a deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, auditing and internal controls.

Prior to his current role at Mwala TVC, CPA Nzioki served at Uwezo Kenya Limited from 2016 to 2022. During his tenure, he held the dual responsibilities of Assistant Accountant and Accounting Trainer. In these roles, he was instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management reports, and imparting accounting knowledge and skills to staff and trainees.
 

Message from the Finance Office

Finance department in Mwala Technical and Vocational College forms part of the integral management team. The department play critical role in sourcing, and sound financial management aimed at getting the best out of the college’s service delivery.

Our Roles

  1.  Form part of the team preparing the strategic plan that acts as the guideline for all institutional planning.
  2.  Work in conjunction with the departmental heads in the preparation of annual budgets estimates for revenues and expenditure.
  3. Custodian of institutional assets and resources to enhance optimal utilization and safeguard assets for the benefit of all stakeholders.
  4.  Aid in ensuring lawful expenditure within the institution and ensure proper authorization of all transactions committing institutions’ resources.
  5.  In charge of the preparation and maintaining of financial and accounting records as per the guidelines of PFM Act of 2012.
  6.  Prepare and make submission of the required statutory reports as and when required by the PFM Act and any other relevant Circular as may be issued from time to time.
  7.  Continuous updates and follow up on fees collection from students and funds from other agencies for effective, efficiency use and to meet transparency requirements.
  8. Assist in both internal and external audit through provision of sufficient evidence on accounting transactions as well as responding to matters raised by the AG office.
  9. Provide disclosure on any fraud, losses or non-compliance with the PFM Act.
